The Origin of the Journal
2019
I've been flying for work for years. On one of those flights, the person next to me was carrying something heavy, I could feel it without knowing what it was. On impulse, I handed her my journal and asked if she'd like to write something. Anything. She did.
I've been asking ever since. What followed were hundreds of entries written by strangers in the margins of my travel, on delayed flights, canceled connections, early morning departures, and long flights home. Grief, gratitude, inspiration, creativity, and love. Things people rarely say or share out loud but will write, quietly, if given the chance by someone who asks. These are their words, their stories. I just carry the journal.
The Journey
A quiet space for the stories that happen between us. These are the moments captured in ink, shared across thousands of miles, and preserved in the pages of a single journal.
